Origin
Svevo (Triticum durum Desf.) is an Italian originated durum wheat variety. It was registered in 2001 by Tasaco Tarim. Production rights were purchased by Tasaco Tarim.
Form of spike
Form of spike is with awn. Colour of spike is white and colour of awn is light brown, edge of awn is black. It doesn’t spill grains and blending capability is good.
Grain Quality
Grain has long elliptical shapes and color of grain is amber,
It’s convenient to make high quality pasta.
It’s one of the famous varieties of pasta industry.
It is also very good variety for bulgur (broken wheat).
Agricultural characteristic and breeding suggestions
It is natured "Alternative growth". It’s resistance to cold and is an early variety.
Tillering of Zenit is high.
It’s recommended that quantities of spread seeds are 220-240 kg/ha with seeding machine. Using more seeds causes sibling spikes to remain small.
